April Blog

Can you believe it’s already spring?  Our year is very quickly wrapping up, but we are still staying very busy in 5th grade.  Here is what we have to look forward to this month….

Math- we are working on lesson 83 next and will be due for a test again early in the week of April 13th

Reading- Reading tests have been changed around a bit to make up for the missed school days this month.  Lessons 24 and 25 will be tested on Fridays.  I will be assessing all areas for both of these lessons, and students should be sure to review their study guides prior to the tests as usual!

Religion- All students have just wrapped up a chapter, and will be moving into our next section very shortly!  We will only have a few more actual tests before all grades move into an end of the year project in May.  Keep an eye out for information coming home on projects in late April or early May.

Writing- We have just a few more writing projects left this year. Students are currently working on a fairy tale persuasion essay that will be due April 15th.  They are also beginning to select books for their book critique.  All books must be read a summary must be turned in by April 17th.  Students have been given dates for check points already and will be receiving an assignment description and rubric for the project very soon.

I’m looking forward to anther exciting month in 5th grade!  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I will be happy to help! Can you believe it’s already spring?  Our year is very quickly wrapping up, but we are still staying very busy in 5th grade.  Here is what we have to look forward to this month….
