Thank to all the students, parents, and grandparents who donated funds to our March mission, the American Heart Association's "Jump Rope for Hearts".

The students enjoyed jumping rope in class and improved greatly in their rope jumping skills and endurance.

The middle school students will be starting their soccer unit this month. Hopefully the weather will improve and we can get outside and enjoy the sunshine and warmth that it brings. We will be working on ball skills and playing games during class. During this unit, the students will also be taking fitness testing to see how much growth they have gained since last fall in cardivascular endurance, foot speed, strength, and flexibility.

Elementary students in 3rd and 4th grades will be doing their fitness testing in April/May. Activities include shuttle run, 1/2 mile and 1 mile runs, sit-ups, pull-ups, and flexibility stretches. All classes will be participating in a soccer skills unit, parachute, scoops, and foxtails lessons for April.

K, 1st,  and 2nd graders in Health have been learning the importance of caring for their teeth and the need to visit the dentist.

The second graders are studying the function and structure of teeth.

3rd grade health has focused on the Integumentary System (skin, hair, and nails). We talk about the care/protection of these body parts, the structure, and the function.

The fourth graders are learning about the Musculaar and Skeletal systems.
