Support Reading for Kindergarten, First, and Second
Currently I am keeping students in their classroom during their reading block. I am working with a group of students during their center time. My focus is to support the skills and vocabulary that your son or daughter’s classroom teacher is teaching.
I am currently helping with spelling. It is important that students verbalize their spelling words and know the sounds that make up that word along patterns and rules.
Students are receiving a pull out service and are getting additional help with the lessons from the Journey series. They benefit from the additional support. L
7th and 8th grade Reading
Students are reading short articles. The emphasis is on reviewing reading comprehension skills, vocabulary and word study. Your son or daughter needs to be reading outside of school in order to reach their Accelerated Reading Goal.
5th and 6th grade Reading
Students should be using the Think Central website. This site will help them understand the vocabulary and anchor text. Comprehension has been a struggle. Reread and answering the study guide will help.
Please check with your child to see how close they are to reaching their Accelerated Reading Goal??? Additional reading besides the required classroom assignment will help your child’s reading ability.
