Guidance Program Information
Our guidance counselor will be at school each day of the school week this year. Our developmental guidance program provides each student the opportunity to attain his or her maximum potential. The goal of the guidance program is to assist the child in learning acceptable behavior and to develop a responsible attitude toward one’s self, school, home and social environment by establishing a climate of warmth, understanding and concern. To obtain this goal, the program takes a multi-faceted approach:
1. Guidance provides classroom and small group sessions that help students develop skills of communication and acceptance of others.
2. Counseling may be done on a one-to-one or small group basis.
3. Consulting is done with the administrator, teachers, specialists, and parents.
4. Emotional and academic testing or further evaluation of past test data may be requested by parents or guardians.
