The St. Joseph Chess Club meets after school on Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:15.

There are two semesters each year, Fall (September - December) and Spring (January - May),
registration for each being $75. Up to 20 students are accepted, and late entries (with a prorated registration fee) are accepted as long as there is still space in the club. The club features instruction in tactical tricks, strategies, endgames and openings, with plenty of time for several games each session. Jose also runs chess tournaments at the St. Joseph School, the next one being on May 5th. Jose has been teaching chess for the last 7 years and is currently the Chess Champion of Iowa.
